I went from never painting a flower before to a literal garden of work around my studio. I absolutely loved the warm up lessons as inspiration and even framed a few of my mini series. I completed every single exercise and painting in Flower Flow - it really took me out of my comfort zone and I did not want it to end!

some of the techniques we will use:

part 4

dare to bloom!

What would it take for you to really grow and bloom creatively? Flowers have a way of blossoming again and again, delicate, joyful and colorful no matter what: in a crack of the pavement, or right after a storm. We may not always have the perfect space, the quiet time, the skills or the right art supplies, but what if we dared to bloom and create anyway, right now, right where we are planted?

Flower Flow Online Mixed Media Painting Class with Laly Mille

warm-up series

Inspired by the process of art journaling, let’s fill a page with words, color and flowers, taking a moment to reflect on what makes us bloom. Then we will cut the page into mini paintings!

Flower Flow Online Mixed Media Painting Class with Laly Mille

main project

For our final project, let’s create a painting that combines everything we’ve explored in the class: color, texture, light, lines, contrast, and above all, the joy and playfulness of mixed media art!

some of the techniques we will use:

Let’s combine intuition and serendipity with the more structured look of a grid composition, work with a favorite color combination, finger-paint flowers over collage, incorporate words into our painting and add an image as our focal point.

Bonus lesson!

“The Poetic Botanist”: Let’s celebrate the delicate beauty of vintage botanicals! In this short art journaling project, we will combine vintage floral art with beautiful poetry and fun image transfers. Together they will create a romantic and vintage feel!

Flower Flow is such a fun, happy and joy-filled class! It is impossible not to feel inspired and creative as Laly takes you through each lesson. Each section is very unique and individual with many different techniques and styles. One of my very favorite classes ever!! Laly, thank you for all the time, effort and work you put into your classes. You are truly the best.

Hi! I'm Laly

your guide for this creative journey

I'm so glad you’re here! I’m a mixed media artist from France, and I’m here to help your art grow and bloom! Flowers are one of my favorite subjects to paint, and my favorite art to have around the house.

Flowers are pure, positive energy. They are hope, love and beauty. They are joy and creativity. With just a bit of paint and paper, with our hands and our hearts, we can bring more of these much-needed things into the world, so let's get blooming!

 kind words from the students

I am so excited to tell you how much confidence I have gained from taking this class. Mixed media used to be a challenge and now I love it. It’s a great way to dive in and to be able to work at your own pace. I have watched and rewatched the videos figuring out my own style. I would recommend this to all skill levels. Thank you Laly for this class.
— Denise B.

What a joy these lessons have been to me! I learned so much about media I never knew existed and have added quite a bit to my supplies. Your method of teaching is most helpful. The community you have created is so encouraging and comforting. Thank you for sharing your gift and for connecting artists from around the globe.
— Sandra R.

This was my first venture onto canvas instead of an art journal and it was terrifying and WONDERFUL! I kept a vase with blushing pink roses on my desk the whole time to inspire me. Thank you Laly!
— Kathryn A.

Flower Flow with Laly is one of my favorite courses I’ve taken. Art and painting aside, her lilting voice calms me, her stories open up my imagination in nature. She just puts me in a great space to let me and my feelings come out into my art! Hard to describe… she makes me feel soft and artistic and real.
— Kelly P.

I love all of Laly’s classes, but Flower Flow is my favorite among all others. I really enjoyed her “A Little Wild” lesson. You can get very creative by sketching flowers on a textured white background. Creating pattern and playing with different colors and media are very fun. Working with alcohol ink and getting to know its unpredictable nature was the most exciting part of the project. I learned many different techniques in Flower Flow and I loved it.
— Diana A.

I love Laly’s style and have always wondered how she achieves certain things. In this class I got the answers to so many technique questions and had a chance to practice them for myself. Lots of very helpful practical tips!
— Stephanie W.

I am proud of the “mistakes” that shifted my mindset and moved me to discover my own style. With Flower Flow, seeds of hope were planted. I began nurturing my process daily and gradually, I began to look at my efforts with satisfaction. Embracing the process and getting lost in a journey of self discovery has brought me great joy.
— Faye J.

Laly has a bright, cheerful disposition that makes it easy to learn. With a non intimidating approach, she has given me the confidence to start playing with mixed media. Prefect for beginners. She gives enough information without talking too much and never a bore. I already own most of her workshops with the hopes of new workshops on the way. Thank you Laly.
— Lorra Lee R.

Flower Flow has taught me to trust the intuitive process of my art. From messy sketches made using my non-dominant hand to a beautiful canvas I am proud to display in my home. I love writing words that infuse energy and meaning into the art. Each layer holds its own beauty, your techniques have given me confidence in expression rather than perfection. I love the feeling when a mistake becomes a beautiful part of of the finished piece.
— Raewyn S.

I have enjoyed these lessons immensely! I find myself going over sections of the course and enjoying how different the result is each time I do something—even though the process is the same. I particularly enjoyed the freedom of using charcoal sticks in Shabby Blooms and working in a mini series. The little thumbnail colours in Rainbow Meadow, interspersed with paint colour, were magical. Overall, I have enjoyed experimenting with different mediums and techniques… but the biggie is trusting the process.
— Elizabeth F.

I have to say starting your classes has been the best thing I’ve done for years. You have an amazing honesty in your art which has allowed me to blossom and believe again.
